I was surprised that the "bipartisan" bail-out did not pass. However, I am glad we postponed the step into further socialism. The legislation needs more time to be examined and rewritten. We took the time to create the mess. We should expect our lawmakers to take time to work together to make the bill the best possible legislation for $700 billion. The question that keeps coming to my mind is: could someone in the house of representatives wear the pants? Instead of blaming the other party for the failure of the vote, couldn't someone stand up in front the press and suggest that although this is a set back--let's all work together to create legislation we can all agree to pass? Couldn't someone be a leader? It is embarrassing to watch the House of Representatives circus. (Although--maybe house of representatives could take it on the road to pay for the national debt? ...as for blame--check out this video.) Take heart--we will make it through this--together.
Don't you wish sometimes you could turn back time and solve something? This would be a really great time to have those time traveling abilities like Hiro on Heroes. I came across this video today. I do not want my country to fall further into socialism just because our lawmakers failed to act before they fell into crisis mode.
McCain decided to go back to work today--he is after all a Senator. Obama what is your job--I mean before you were campaigning--aren't you a senator too? Do you think you ought to go back to work? Do you really think that I need to hear more hot air from you or McCain? You really think that your debating McCain is more important than making sure the country does not fall into a major depression? Really? We need a government of men and women who remember what they are elected to do. We need men and women who not only say that they are public servants but actually are public servants.
